APM Practitioner (PQ) Assessment
The APM Practitioner qualification assesses whether a delegate can apply appropriately those knowledge areas defined in the APM BoK.
Delegates are assessed against 30 criteria, which require them to demonstrate that they can analyse, identify and understand both issues and information, and manage a non-complex project.
No formal input of theory is included in this assessment process.

Who Should Attend/Pre-requisites
Project managers, with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in responsible leadership functions of non-complex projects, wishing to have their capability as a project manager recognised by a formal qualification.
Delegates must satisfy one of the following criteria for project management knowledge:
• Passed the APMP qualification
or
• Can demonstrate good familiarity with the APM Body of Knowledge (BoK) and have passed an equivalent qualification such as PMP®, ISEB Certificate in Project Management, Open University Project Management Module M865. Alternatively, delegates should have a good foundation knowledge of project management, supported by evidence of relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, delegates will have demonstrated their ability to manage non-complex projects from start to finish.
Examination Structure
Delegates will attend an Assessment Centre for 2 ½ days. During that time, they will be assessed as follows:
Group work (observed)
- Delegates will carry out group exercises to discuss and solve problems relating to a case study.
Individual work
- Delegates will provide written answers to questions based upon the given case study and will also provide a written answer to a question on a topical issue in project management related to their own experience.
Interviews
- All delegates will be interviewed individually.
